Everything ShotPages produces is stored locally, using your browser's own storage:

All of this is deleted when you remove the extension, or when you clear site data for it. We have no copy of any of it.

By default, nothing. Capture, stitching, annotation, mosaic, watermarking, text extraction, sensitive-data detection and export all run inside your browser. The extension makes no requests to shotpages.com or to any server of ours unless you activate a Pro license.

The network activity that can occur is, in full:

• Upload-for-link — if you enter your own upload endpoint in Settings, the exported image is sent to that endpoint, under your account with that provider. We do not receive it and we do not operate that endpoint. Leave the field empty and nothing is ever uploaded.
• License check — only if you have entered a Pro license key. Described in section 5.
• Optional IP lookup — only if you switch on the IP evidence watermark. With that setting on, the extension queries a public IP-echo service once and caches the result; with the setting off, no such request is ever made.

Install and update counts come from the Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons and Firefox Add-ons dashboards. Those are aggregated statistics provided by the store operators, not by us, and they contain no screenshot content.

• Auto-save to a folder — off by default. If you enable it and choose a folder, the browser writes files to that folder on your disk. The folder handle stays on your device.
• Automatic redaction — when you press it, the extension scans the text it already read from the page for emails, phone numbers, ID numbers, card numbers, keys, IPs and similar values. The matching runs locally; nothing is sent anywhere.
• Watermark — if you set a fixed watermark text, it lives in your local settings. The timestamp variant is generated on your device from your own clock; the IP variant requires the opt-in request described in section 2.

A paid Pro plan is available, and it is the only part of ShotPages that talks to our servers. Here is exactly what happens:

• What you give us: the email address you use at checkout, and the license key we issue for it. You enter them in the extension's settings or on our activation page.
• What is sent at each check: that email address and that license key, to api.shotpages.com. The response is a single field — whether the license is valid.
• When it is sent: when the extension checks your entitlement — on startup and when you open a Pro feature. The result is not cached as a permanent flag.
• Monthly capture counter: the free monthly allowance for full-page captures is counted on your device. If you have a license, that count is also reported so the same allowance is not reset by reinstalling. It is a number, nothing more.
• What is never sent: your screenshots, their contents, the text we read from pages, and your browsing history. None of it is part of any request.
• If the server cannot be reached: the extension falls back to the free feature set rather than assuming you are a paying customer. Your purchase is not affected — Pro access returns as soon as the check succeeds again.
• Payments: handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Card numbers are entered on Paddle's checkout and never reach our servers. Paddle's own privacy notice governs that processing.
• Transactional email: your license key is delivered by our email provider, which processes your address for the sole purpose of delivery.
• What we keep: your email address, license status and subscription dates, so we can reissue a key or answer a support request. You can ask us to delete this at any time.

Using the free version needs no email address, no account and no network request of any kind.

• History: kept on your device, capped at the most recent 50 shots; you can delete individual entries from the editor's history view.
• Everything at once: removing the extension clears all local data. Clearing browsing data for extensions does the same.
• Pro records: if you have bought Pro, we hold your email address and license status. Write to support@shotpages.com to have it deleted — note that this ends your ability to re-activate that license, and records we are required to keep for tax purposes are retained by Paddle, not by us.

Because capture and editing happen on your device and we receive no screenshot content, there is usually no personal data of yours in our possession. Where any does exist — an email address and license status, if you bought Pro — you may request access, correction, export or deletion, or object to processing, and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

ShotPages is a general-purpose productivity tool. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the extension's release notes.

ShotPages is operated by Jianmin Xie, an independent seller based in China, who is the data controller for the limited information described in this policy.
