Terms of Service

ShotPages is the trading name of Jianmin Xie, an independent seller based in China ("we", "us", "our"). Paddle is our reseller and merchant of record for every purchase; section 6 explains what that means.

These terms govern your use of the ShotPages browser extension and the website at shotpages.com (together, "ShotPages"). By installing the extension or buying a Pro subscription you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not install or use ShotPages.

You must be at least 16 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to buy a subscription.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use ShotPages on the computers you use, for personal and commercial work.

Screenshots and other output you create with ShotPages are yours. We claim no rights over them, and we never receive a copy.

• Resell, rent, sublicence or redistribute the extension or a Pro license key as a product of your own.
• Publish a license key publicly, or share it beyond the people who work with you.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to bypass the licensing check, except where such restriction is not permitted by applicable law.
• Remove or obscure copyright notices, or use the ShotPages name to imply endorsement of a derivative product.

We may suspend a license that is being shared or resold in breach of this section. Where practical we will contact you first.

The free feature set is available without an account and without payment. It includes a monthly allowance for full-page captures. The allowance is shown in the extension's settings and resets each calendar month. Region and visible-area captures are not limited.

We may change what the free version includes in future releases. Features that are already working will not be removed from the free version and moved behind the paid plan without notice given in the extension's release notes.

ShotPages Pro is an annual subscription, currently $49.99 USD per year. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies to your purchase.

• Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each annual period, using the payment method on file with Paddle, until you cancel.
• Cancelling. You may cancel at any time from the link in your Paddle receipt email, or by writing to support@shotpages.com. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Price changes. If we change the subscription price, we will give notice before the change takes effect on your renewal, and you may cancel before it does.
• Failed payment. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend Pro features until it succeeds. The extension then falls back to the free feature set — nothing you have created is deleted.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all of our orders and handles all of our customer service enquiries and returns.

• Paddle processes your payment and is the seller of record on your invoice.
• Paddle handles any applicable VAT, GST or sales tax and issues the corresponding invoice.
• Your card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and are never transmitted to or stored by us.
• Refunds. If ShotPages is not what you expected, write to support@shotpages.com within 30 days of your purchase and we will arrange a refund through Paddle. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
• Statutory rights in your country of residence are unaffected by this section.

After a successful purchase we issue a license key in the form SP-PRO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and send it to the email address used at checkout. The key is checked against that email address when you activate.

Keep your key private: anyone who has it, together with your email address, can activate Pro with it. If you believe your key has leaked, contact us and we will reissue it.

Activation requires the extension to reach our licensing service. If the service cannot be reached, the extension falls back to the free feature set rather than assuming Pro access.

Screenshots, annotations, extracted text and your history are processed and stored on your own device. We do not receive them, and the extension makes no requests to our servers except the license check described above. Full detail is in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

We aim to keep the licensing service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, change or discontinue features of the extension. If we discontinue the paid plan entirely, we will refund the unused portion of your current subscription period.

ShotPages is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the extension will be error-free or that it will capture every page correctly.

Keep your own copies of anything important. Screenshots are a convenience, not an archive.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or business interruption, arising from your use of ShotPages. Our total liability for any claim relating to ShotPages is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You may stop using ShotPages at any time by removing the extension. We may terminate this agreement if you materially breach it — for example by reselling license keys — after giving you notice where we can. On termination the licence in section 2 ends; sections 8 to 11 survive.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the ShotPages operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of the country in which you reside, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
